Czy możesz dołączyć wyjście 'traceback()'? – hadley

@Hadley jasne, dzięki. Edytowane –

Hmmm, nie widziałem tego wcześniej. Prawdopodobnie najlepiej jest zgłosić błąd w repozytorium devtools i zamknąć to pytanie. – hadley

Właściwie miałem ten sam problem i po zainstalowaniu RCurl działało.

W celu zainstalowania RCurl w ubuntu, wpisz następujące polecenia w terminalu:

sudo apt-get install libcurl4-openssl-dev

Następnie w R:

install.packages('RCurl')

I to jest to!

To powinna być teraz akceptowana odpowiedź –

Jeśli nie możesz zainstalować odpowiedniej wersji libcurl, możesz spróbować użyć funkcji "install_git" zamiast "install_github". Na przykład:

library(devtools)
install_git("https://github.com/hadley/devtools.git")

To zadziałało dla mnie.

Niestety, był to pakiet bug w pakiecie r-cran-rcurl w Debianie. Ostatecznie poprawiliśmy go w dystrybucji Debiana: unstable, testing, a ostatnio stable (Jessie 8.2). W Ubuntu jest on ustalony w wily. Przepraszamy za problem i dziękujemy za korzystanie z Debiana lub jego pochodnych!
